Daddy left out this morning heading home to Georgia and last night after I pulled the rolls out of the oven he ask if he could make a video. Well, here is the result of his video which ended up including supper also. I am including the recipe for the rolls that I mentioned in yesterdays post, I posted it about 4 years ago so it might be new for some of you. The pork chops I posted a few weeks ago and the broccoli casserole is my Cousin Melissa's casserole which I posted a few years ago also. I h

Hot Water Cornbread (makes 4) This is one of my favorites from my childhood, I hope that y'all enjoy the video. 1/2 C. self rising cornmeal 1/4 C. hot tap water pinch of salt Mix together, should be like a thin pancake batter. Heat 1/4" vegetable oil in a skillet to 325 degrees. Drop by 1/4 C. measurments into the oil and fry for about a minute per side. Drain on paper towels. NOTE: If using plain cornmeal, add a pinch of baking soda to it, no need to add any more salt, the pinch in the recipe w

I've had a lot of request for a video on how I make my dressin' for Thanksgiving, so we made one for you today. We did this in segments for the first time and then pieced it together so I didn't have to make double batches as I have done in other videos. It's not perfect, but I think we did pretty good for the first time. This recipe is also in my Vol. V cookbook for those that have it. Southern Dressin' and Giblet Gravy 6 C. roughly crumbled cornbread 2 C. roughly crumbled biscuits (about 3 med

Because ya'll wanted it back...here is the video I took down. I did mess up and forget to mention Appalachian in the first part, but I actually wanted to say welcome back to my kitchen, just got nervous. I also forgot to mention cook it in a 425 degree oven for 15-20 min (8" skillet) or until golden brown on top. This is my Nannies Skillet Corn Bread recipe that I have previously posted. | Janet's Appalachian Kitchen
